How to Create Bluetooth Shortcuts in Windows 10

To use Bluetooth quickly we can create a shortcut that provides direct access to the function of sending and receiving files via Bluetooth.

In Windows 10 you can find the Bluetooth icon in the system tray which is the only quick access to Bluetooth menus. But with a little trick we can add a special shortcut to quickly access the file submission menu.

How to create a Bluetooth shortcut in Windows 10

1. Enter the system32 directory

The first step, open Windows Explorer on your laptop. Then enter the following directory:

C: \ Windows \ System32

2. Find the file named fsquirt.exe

Once in the System32 folder, click on the search field in Windows Explorer, then type in the following search keywords:

After the search is complete, you will see a file called fsquirt.

This file is what we will use later to add a Bluetooth shortcut on the Windows 10 desktop.

3. Copy the fsquirt.exe file

Then right click on the fsquirt.exe file => select Copy.

4. Paste it to the desktop

The next step is to go to the Windows 10 desktop => after that right-click on an empty area => select Paste.

5. Rename the file to Bluetooth

The fsquirt file will move to the desktop and can be used. But to make it easier to remember, you can change the name first.

You do this by right clicking on the fsquirt file => select Rename => name Bluetooth.

6. Open the Bluetooth shortcut to send and receive files

We've successfully created a Bluetooth shortcut on the Windows 10 desktop. Now you can use it to send and receive files.

The trick is to double-click on the Bluetooth shortcut, the file sending menu will appear immediately.

How to add a Bluetooth shortcut to the Taskbar

Apart from creating shortcuts on the desktop, we can also add them to the taskbar to access them with one click. The method is the same as adding another shortcut to the taskbar.

Follow these steps:
  1. Right-click on the Bluetooth shortcut on the desktop.
  2. Select Pin to taskbar.
  3. Click and hold the Bluetooth icon on the taskbar.
  4. Scroll to the desired position.
  5. Shortcuts can be used.

If you want to remove it from the taskbar, just right click on the shortcut => select Unpin from taskbar.

How to add a Bluetooth shortcut to the Start menu

You can also add a Bluetooth shortcut to the Windows 10 Start menu. Some people may prefer to access programs via this menu, while others prefer via the taskbar or a shortcut on the desktop. Please choose as you wish.

Follow these steps:
  1. Right-click on the Bluetooth shortcut on the desktop.
  2. Select Pin to Start.
  3. Open the Start menu.
  4. Click and hold the Bluetooth shortcut.
  5. Scroll to the desired position.

After successfully adding a Bluetooth shortcut to the Start menu, then you can use it like any other shortcut.

To open it, simply click on the Start menu (Windows key) and then click once on the Bluetooth shortcut.

To remove it from the Start menu, you can right click on the shortcut => select Unpin from Start.
