When downloading Windows 10 drivers from the internet, we often find archive files with .zip or .rar formats so that we are confused about how to install them. Unlike the .exe or .msi formats which can be directly double-clicked to install them, the .zip and .rar formats require different install methods.

In previous posts we have discussed how to check for drivers that are not installed. This time bingGo will discuss how to manually install the driver in zip format.

A driver is a program that functions as a hardware driver on the Windows 10 operating system. Without a driver, hardware such as VGA, modem, mouse, touchpad, keyboard, WiFi and ethernet, speakers, and other devices will not function.

Therefore, to ensure that all devices on the computer can perform their functions, we must install all the appropriate drivers for these devices.

How to Install the Driver Manually in Zip and Rar Format

1. Download the appropriate driver file for the device

First, find the appropriate driver for the device on the computer and download the file.

To find the right driver, the method can be seen here:

2. Extract the driver file

After getting the driver file, look at the file format first, if it is in .exe or .msi format, it can be installed immediately as usual by double-clicking.

But if the driver file is in the form of archives with. Zip, . Rar, . 7z, . Gzip format, then the file needs to be extracted first.

You can use a program like 7zip or WinRAR to extract it. Right click on the driver file => select Extract to folder.
